Hometown Christmas | There was a full house when the White River Valley Players presented their annual gift to the community, “The Night Before The Night Before Christmas,” on Friday, Dec. 23 at the Federated Church on Main Street in Rochester. Directed by Dorothy Robson and Susan Rule, the theme of this year’s show was “Home for Christmas,” featuring stories, poems, and music (pictured are The Three Sues), and memories of Rochester in the 1930s and 40s. A number of folks that grew up in the valley reminisced with the directors, who transcribed and edited their stories into narratives about Christmas, winter, and World War II. Donations at the door benefited the community food shelf and the Gendron family. (Herald / Jerry LeBlond)
