The Night Before the Night Before | The White River Valley Players will present “The Night Before The Night Before Christmas” show on Friday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Federated Church on Main Street in Rochester. Directed by Dorothy Robson and Susan Rule, the theme of this year’s show will be “Home for Christmas,” with seasonal stories, poems, and music, including memories of Rochester in the 1930s and 40s. A number of folks who grew up in the valley spoke with the directors, who then transcribed and edited these memories into narratives about Christmas, winter, and World War II. The show will be preceded by indoor caroling at 6:45 p.m. Admission is by a free will offering at the door, and all donations will benefit the community food shelf. Pictured (l-r, front row) are Gordon Mills, Hap Ingham, and Ray Quillia, with Arlene (Mills) Newell and Jillian Sherwin in back. (Herald / Jerry LeBlond)
