A MOMENT TO REMEMBER! | Saturday was an unusual numerically speaking, dubbed "Tic-Tac-Toe Day,” by Ron Gordon of California, who loves keeping track of rare and unusual number sequences of dates. That day, he pointed out, can be represented by "12/13/14." We won’t see another sequence date like this until January 2, 2103 – which will be “1/2/3,” 88 years from now! Gordon was inspired to create a contest around this special day, offering $1213.14 in prize money to those with creative celebrations of the big day. The Herald couldn’t resist, and asked for volunteers to help out. On Saturday, 16 intrepid souls gathered in Randolph’s Depot Square to celebrate a special moment on “Tac Tac Toe Day.” This image was shot at precisely 10 minutes and 11 seconds after 9 a.m., which is: 9:10:11-12/13/14! Added numerical celebrations were also recognized among the throng: Evelyn Morawski, the young girl with “11,” reports being born on “2/4/8,” and Helen S. Merriam, the woman holding “12," was born precisely 70 years before 12/13/14 at exactly 12 noon! The Herald was informed this week we will share in the prize money to be distributed this summer to 39 creative groups and individuals, the sum of 12, 13, plus 14!
