FEMA mitigation counselor James Pilutti talks with Jim Denis and Catrina Holtz of Hancock, who lost their home on Bettis Road. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) set up a mobile disaster recovery center in Hancock on Monday. The response center, which comes with a state-of-the-art communication truck, is able to register disaster victims on site, even in locales with no cellphone or internet coverage. Before Hancock, the mobile unit was in Bethel. Today, FEMA sets up at the Journey Church in South Royalton. (Herald / Tim Calabro)
