While The Sun Shines / Getting hay from the field to the barn is a process requiring five labor-imtensive steps over several days of rain-free weather. Mowing is followed by tedding, which spreads the hay out to promote drying. Here, the hay has been raked in preparation for baling, the fourth step. Finally the bales are gathered up and brought to the barn for storage. This all requires a 4 to 5 day window of rain-free weather.
