Volunteers Andrea Easton, Stauch Blaise, Sasha Aronson, and Rosalind Burgess work on the Forest Street mural in Randolph on a sunny Thursday afternoon. The mural was originally created in 1981 by Easton and best friend Bethany Grantor after their senior year at RUHS, which coincided with the town's bicentennial.
Though it was revised and redone over the years, the mural had fallen into disrepair by the mid 2000s. Last year, during her 30-year reunion, Easton decided to rekindle the project and associate it with a fine arts scholarship in honor of her friend, Grantor, who died in 1996.
Work on the wall will continue through the summer, with the aim of a grand opening in September. Easton noted, "Anyone that wants to help out, should just drop by when they see us out there." (Herald / Tim Calabro)
