Even before parades echoed through the White River's valleys, the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph Center awoke to audible silence on Monday morning. But stones, gray and white, reached up toward the sky, as though to remind us: “Remember, while you are yet alive, that life is precious and good. Hold fast to those things which are enduring and life giving. Make of this world a more peaceful and loving place. . . do it now while you have your hands and heart and breath.”
The morning continued to come, and in the growing light we are reminded that for these souls our deeds of service and love are a worthy memorial. (Herald / Bob Eddy)
