Matt Kill, above, and his classmates from RTCC’s Public Safety program lent a helping hand to Randolph’s American Legion Post 9 by placing more than 800 flags on the headstones of veterans in Randolph’s cemeteries Thursday. For years Legion member Sumner Small, a World War II vet himself, single-handedly placed these flags over the course of the summer. With the help of 12 students, the Legion was able to fill all seven cemeteries in Randolph in a little under 3 hours last week. (Herald / Tim Calabro)
