Student members of ski patrol catch up over lunch in the ski patrol base station, while others try to focus on their studies. A lively time of interaction each day, especially during weekends, some students choose to keep their homework separate from the mountain, where others may opt to use their downtime to work on their degrees. Middlebury College allots each student a physical education credit for volunteering on ski patrol. (Herald / Seth Butler)
