Robbie Bryan tries his hand with a foam-insulation gun Tuesday morning as he and fellow RTCC Power Technology and Building Trades students were led in a day-long energy efficiency workshop put on by the Central Vermont Community Action Council. The workshop included a visit from the mobile Home Energy Makeover Exhibit, a trailer that simulates rooms from basement to attic to demonstrate possible causes of heat loss; instruction from contractor Chip Patullo of Above-N-Beyond Energy, Inc.; and, hands-on training with a portable deck (seen above) made to simulate an attic space that needs air-sealing.
The exhibit will move to South Royalton on Friday, where students will have a chance to work with it, and a public workshop will be held Saturday from 9Ð3 so homeowners can get training in stopping heat loss. (Herald / Tim Calabro)
