A MONDAY ON MAIN STREET
Bethel, January 12, 2015
POCKET PARK | A lone pedestrian walks past a pocket park between two businesses in Bethel, Tuesday. The park was created by property owner Kevin Barry on a small parcel of land where a town road provided access to loading doors at the backs of businesses on the River side of Main Street. The access road was scoured away by the 1927 flood, leaving this bit of land, high and dry, but useless. Useless, that is, until Barry approached the town with the idea of this clever bit of micro-development. (Herald / Bob Eddy)
