Viewed from the Rochester Gap, a super "pink" moon rises over the Bethel hillsides on April 7. This is the second of three super moons occurring in early 2020. Super moons appear about 7 percent larger and 15 percent brighter than normal full moon rises due to thew moon's proximity to earth. The "pink" designation is attached to this particular moonrise because it coincides with the blooming of the moss phlox, a pink wildflower blossom native to eastern North America.
