ANTICIPATION | Belmains department store, a Randolph mainstay since the 1930s, promises to be even more popular this summer. Manager Penny Young, (left) enthused Monday, "We plan to be selling ice cream by May!"l Here, a crew from Portland Glass has removed a huge plate glass window replacing it with a counter and sliding glass for service outside the popular Main Street store. Long-time employee Bobbi Kuhn can be seen at the right, taking photographs of the development which, Young admits, was all owner Peter Winslow's idea. Winslow, known for smart business innovation, is celebrated for rebuilding the landmark store, which stands at the heart of Randolph's Main Street block, after three fires gutted the Village in 1992 and1993.
