MIND THE GAPS | Nick Vanderkloot from the Netherlands and Robert Vernimmen of Luxembourg rolled through Randolph Saturday on their way to Rochester and Brandon gaps in pursuit of a one day 6-gap tour of the Green Mountains, beginning and ending in Middlebury. They had crossed the Appalachian, Lincoln, Middlebury, and Roxbury gaps by 4 p.m. Surprisingly, the pair cited, as the most arduous part of the trip, Vermont Route 12A from Roxbury to Randolph, returned to gravel in the process of being resurfaced this summer.
