Doug Lyford's Memorial Day rememberance for his deceased classmate, Francis Thompson, was small, largely a family affair. The service began at the American flag on Chelsea's North Common, where Millie Knudsen played taps. Then the group walked together to Knudsen's grave in Highland Cemetery.
