Katie Runde (lower right), of South Royalton, holds a sign overhead, while listening to State Representative Sue Minter address the crowd during the Vermont Women's March in Montpelier. Reflecting on the day's events, Runde said, "I was inspired to join the march by all of those making the sacrifices to get to Washington, D.C. to openly defy a new leadership that threatens not only the rights of, and respect for, women, but also the welfare of the poor and the earth we live on. I was particularly struck both by how many men joined us in the march, and later, the pictures flooding in from similar marches around, not only the country, but the world. While I marched in Montpelier, my sister did in NYC, my cousin in LA, and a buddy in Victoria, CanadaÉ all together with other friends and strangers. There was a remarkable feeling of unified voice and resolve!" (Herald / Seth Butler)
