Gratitude Circle | The gratitude circle is a tradition that is continuing at the White River Valley High School, involving everyone in the school joining as a family and sharing their thoughts on thankfulness. The morning started off with a video showcasing all types of thankful moments, shared by junior Toni Turner. Following the video and a sentimental Thanksgiving poem read by Mrs. Epchook, students and faculty formed a full circle, taking turns reading notes or contributing personal reflections of thanks. There were also anonymous notes of thanks read, which were collected during the prior day’s lunchtime. This event provides for the full school to come together as a whole and communicate in ways that could be uncomfortable for some people. Turner, working with her AP Lit. class, Mrs. DeSimone and Epchook, said “Americans have it better than (many) other countries, and … I felt we needed a way to share all that we have to be thankful for.” (Herald / Hannah Clavelle)
