THE NEXT GENERATION | Jacob Kaplan of Randolph wowed the audience at Chandler's annual spring concert featuring young artists last weekend. Spontaneous, loudly voiced and applauded acclamation from the house followed his stunning performance of Alexander Glazimov's formidable Concerto for Saxophone Opus 109 accompanied by Alison Cerutti on piano. Kaplan, whose grandfather taught oboe at Julliard, plans a career in either classical or jazz saxophone and will attend UMass Amherst this fall. (Herald / Bob Eddy)
