Scott Giles furrows a corn field on Stock Farm Road in Randolph for his family's farm. The field was covered with muck from Irene's flood, which Giles noted made the field stickier than normal. According to a Vermont Land Trust article farmers are finding flooded fields covered with an average of 6-10 inches of silt and clay, which must be dealt with before this summer's growing season.
