A carboy holding six gallons of fresh Elmshade Farm cider is topped off before fermentation begins. Carrying the fully loaded carboys, weighing more than fifty pounds, down into the Elmshade Farm cellar is difficult. The Browns look forward to having all operations on one floor in their new cider barn, scheduled for completion by next fall.
