Most campsites in the Green Mountain National Forest open on Memorial Day, but at Silver Lake, camping is permitted at any time, and already on May 24, one of the 15 campsites was occupied by a young family from Brandon, David and Natalie Collins and young Gaige, 2-1/2 years old.
