Fifth-grader Skyley Hudson rode her pony, Chiclet, to South Royalton Elementary School once when she was in kindergarten and that trip has become a last-day-of-school tradition every year since then. Hudson road Chiclet to her last day of elementary school Thursday morning and pastured the pony in the pre-school playground for the day. Heading to middle school in Bethel next year, Hudson hasn’t ruled out carrying on the tradition, even if the trip is much longer. (Herald / Tim Calabro)
