KEYSTONE PIPELINE VIGIL | Following last Friday's release of a long awaited environmental imapact statement on the proposed Keystone pipeline's impact upon climate change, thousands of citizens took to the streets in cities across the U.S., Monday. The proposed pipeline, which would transport 83,000 barrels of tar sands crude from Alberta to refineries on the U.S. Gulf Coast daily, would have negligible impact upon global warming, according to the State Department report. Joining others across the country in peaceful protest, a small group gathered in Randolph's Depot Square, Monday. Vermonter and 350.org founder Bill McKibbon has said, "We realize that in any battle of money, we're going to lose. So we have to find other currencies to work in and those are our spirit and passion and creativity, and our numbers and our bodies, so we're increasingly willing to lay them on the line."
