12A BLOCKAGE | Extensive flooding shifted the railroad bridge and damaged the abutment in Roxbury, just north of the East Granville town line. Extensive repair by Osmose Railroad Service of Madison, Wisc., caused continued closure of Route 12A this week. Residents of East Granville driving to their town clerk's office are now forced to travel south through Braintree and Randolph into Bethel, over Camp Brook Road to Rochester, and then north through Hancock. While this journey of over 30 miles is a great distance, when the road north to Roxbury is open, it's still a trip of more than 20 miles! (Herald / Bob Eddy)
