"This crop looks good, but we've learned not to count on it until it's harvested. In 37 years of farming here at Liberty Hill, we've had only one bad corn harvest, and that crop was standing over fifteen feet tall and ready to chop when Irene came through and took everything away four years ago," said Bob Kennett, Monday this week, adding with a wry smile, "Of course our chopped corn is bunkered down here on the flood plain, so it's not really a sure thing until the cows have eaten it!"
