Area youth ballplayers gathered in Randolph Saturday afternoon for a Major League Baseball-sponsored pitching, hitting, and running competition. Winners from five age groups will test their skills in Newport, Vt. next week; the top competitors at that event will win the opportunity to field balls at the MLB Home Run Derby in July.
