GREEN THUMBS | Freshmen in the Landscape Design and Sustainable Horticulture program at VTC prepare to plant at Kimball Public Library in Randolph last week. The students, enrolled in Introduction to Landscape Design, worked in pairs to design a flower bed for the library that would be beautiful, easy to maintain, and inexpensive to plant. Once the final design was chose, the students dug up the old beds, lifted and separated the old plants, dug in new compost, and laid out and planted the winning design. (Herald / Tim Calabro)
