Readying the Rink | A group of volunteers gathered at the Vershire Town Center on November 20. The Vershire Recreation Committee organized the event to start work on the long-anticipated community ice rink. The turnout was good, and included people of all ages, who are looking forward to doing some skating here in town. The plan is to have Vershire Fire and Rescue fill the rink once it is ready. The Recreation Committee is looking into a resurfacing machine that will keep the ice ready for action, perhaps a Zamboni on a much smaller scale. The committee is now looking for shovels to keep on hand for removing snow, and also donations of skates, hockey equipment and milk crates so that everyone can enjoy this new resource.
