FRONT-ROW SEATS, SHOVEL-READY PROJECT | W.B. Rogers replaces a failing retaining wall on Randolph's Main Street as Randolph House residents look on, Tuesday. The work which is being accomplished with a grant appropriation approved by the Randolph Selectboard, will protect the sidewalk and street from subsidence. In this panoramic view Charlie Gilman is operating an 18 ton Badger rubber-tired excavator with Robert Somers doing shovel work down below and Ed Gilman supervising from the deck. Randolph House reesidents to the right are: Pam Sault, Walter Banker, Gordie Fields, Jim Whithead, and Ed Place. Charlie Gilman reports that work on this retaining wall portion of the project should be done on Friday this week. (Herald / Bob Eddy)
