Vermont Law School's Pat Parenteau, sits among new acquaintances waiting for the thousands massed at 72nd St. and Central Park West to begin marching Sunday. Over 400,000 people from every state in the nation and visitors from across the globe were joined together in calling for President Obama and world leaders to act now, decisively, to avert impending environmental disaster. Here with Parenteau are: (front left to right) Doris Finkel, Elizabeth Rogers, Judy Rosenblatt, and Leah Wells, and (back right) Jacinte Ritchie all of Manhattan. Vermonters, traveling to NYC in 22 charter busses, by public transport and hundreds of cars were reported to have the highest per capita march representation of any state. Parenteau is the retired director of Vermont Law School's Environmental Law Center, and of the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic. (Herald / Bob Eddy)
