Eric Withington (left), and Delmar Balch, work in tandem to clean up storm debris on Tower Road in Barnard. This location, where a seemingly healthy Maple had been ripped asunder during Friday's severe storms, was one of eight separate instances where roads in town were temporarily closed, and required emergency maintenance from the town road crew on Friday evening. Having been at work since 6 A.M. on Monday, busy making a second pass for additional storm damage clean up, Withington remarked "Weather in Vermont, it could do anything at any time."
