Green Up - Clean Up! | AmeriCorps / VISTA volunteer, Crystal Hand, uncovered a very old enameled "World Soap Powder" sign during her litter pick-up with Morgan Eastman (center), Saturday. Randolph Green Up
Day coordinator, Stephen Wright, (right), also a UVM geology professor, opined that the powder would have been borax, a mineral compound mined very near Hand's California home. In August, she will return home with a wonderful memento of her year in Vermont. (Herald / Bob Eddy)
